UPCOMING EVENTS

We believe it's important to give something back to our supporters, that is why we plan on hosting events and undergoing challenges throughout the year to show our appreciation for your support. Whether it's a pub quiz or a sporting challenge, there are plenty of ways in which you can support our fundraising campaigns. If you would like to get involved yourself and fundraise on our behalf, let us know and we will support you all the way!

This year we have a space in the London Marathon, and we're delighted to announce that James Houghton will be running on behalf of The Favela Foundation.

James was inspired to offer his support to the favelas of Brazil after spending time living and working around Brazil.

Training is well underway, with the highlight being the recent completion of the Paris Half Marathon!

PATRICK & KANAV IN BRAZIL

wark-pat-k.jpg

Patrick & Kanav visited Rio de Janeiro in October to visit some of the projects that The Favela Foundation has supported over the past 12 months, including Instituto WARK, and spent time in favelas across Rio.

They were also fortunate enough to attend a Sustainability in Favelas Conference and visit some excellent new projects as we look forward to 2019.

Patrick and Matt attended this year's Brazil Forum, hosted at London Schools of Economics. The theme was Break(ing) Down the Constitution, focused on assessing the success of Brazil's post-dictatorship constitution, created 30 years ago.

The panels and talks focused on themes ranging from the economy to inequality and sustainable development, as well as keynote speeches from Head of Amnesty International Brazil, Jurema Werneck, and ex-President Dilma Rousseff.

RioOnWatch.org asked Patrick to write his summary of the event, titled 'Justice and Politics of Inequality Dominate Brazil Forum UK 2018' - follow the link to have a read - http://www.rioonwatch.org/?p=43323
