OUR COVID-19 RESPONSE
THE FAVELAS IN THE PANDEMIC...
Many household incomes, in the favela communities, have been reduced to zero as they are unable to travel to work, and families are falling further into poverty during the COVID-19 pandemic. No significant additional support is being made available to them by the Brazilian government.
HOW WE ARE SUPPORTING...
The Favela Foundation have provided over 1000 families across four of Brazil’s favelas with supplies of cestas básicas – a care package of household basics with enough food, clean water and hygiene supplies to last for one month.

Additionally, we are working with our partners within the favelas and have provided over 2000 face-masks to the residents of these communities.
